Results from hyperbaric chamber tests of confined buckle propagation using 3m long aluminium pipes with three different D/t ratios are presented and discussed. A new testing method, confined ring squash test, is proposed to estimate the confined buckle propagation pressure. The proposed confined ring squash test gives a reasonable estimate of the confined buckle propagation pressure and is a much expedient test to implement in comparison to hyperbaric chamber test. Results from hyperbaric chamber tests of confined buckle propagation using 3m long aluminium pipes with three different D/t ratios are presented and discussed.
