    Abstract
The Graduate Certificate in Flexible Learning uses a website to support teaching and learning and has two unique features (i) a course structure that is built around a practice-based project and negotiated learning contract; and (ii) course level assessment using an electronic portfolio. In this paper, we overview the course curriculum and discuss the learning experiences of the staff and the participants and our approach to evaluating this teaching for learning strategy. We will present initial evaluative results and reflections as we aimed to evaluate the course. The Graduate Certificate in Flexible Learning uses a website to support teaching and learning and has two unique features (i) a course structure that is built around a practice-based project and negotiated learning contract; and (ii) course level assessment using an electronic portfolio.
