The review critiques a conference entitled "China's Positive (Affirmative Action) Policies in Minority Education", held in Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, in the United States in April 2006. It takes up issues of affirmative action that were raised at the conference relevant both to China and to the United States. The Conference was very clear that affirmative action policies were still useful, even necessary, both in China and the United States, and the review took up a position in general agreement with the conference. The review critiques a conference entitled "China's Positive (Affirmative Action) Policies in Minority Education", held in Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, in the United States in April 2006.
