Almost all of the studies examined discuss the positive or negative relationships between intangible cultural heritage and the tourism industry, but little research focuses on tourists' motivation aspects in tourism linked to intangible cultural heritage. The Korean tourism industry also shows increasing interest in intangible cultural heritage, but academic research in this field is still in the initial stages. In order to reduce the existing research gaps, this study discusses the role of intangible cultural heritage in motivating cultural tourists.
