    Abstract
In this paper we present a novel low-bitrate 3D model compression algorithm called the Plane-Tree. This algorithm is based on octree subdivision and stores a plane at each leaf node which better approximates the surface within the node. Quantitative evaluations show that this method is competitive with state of the art transform based methods and outperforms them at low-bitrates.In this paper we present a novel low-bitrate 3D model compression algorithm called the Plane-Tree.
