Despite the importance placed on recruiting international students, investigations into recruitment marketing strategies used by educational institutions are lacking. This paper presents preliminary findings of a qualitative study which addresses this research gap by investigating marketing strategies used by universities and schools in the recruitment of international students. Six propositions are developed for future testing.Despite the importance placed on recruiting international students, investigations into recruitment marketing strategies used by educational institutions are lacking.
