The Development of New Tourism Networks to Respond to and Recover from the 2011 Christchurch Earthquake

After examining the new tourism networks that developed as a response to and during recovery from the 2011 Christchurch earthquake, this chapter suggests that tourism businesses have to work collaboratively with different organizations to recover and ensure business continuity. Using a business network approach, the chapter identifies the most salient issues that may affect turnaround and the differences between networks before and after the earthquake.
