Improving recycling situations in construction: a Hong Kong survey
Analogous with most modern cities, waste disposal is a pressing issue due to limited landfill and public filling (land reclamation) areas in Hong Kong in which construction and demolition (C&D) waste forms the major source. Waste measures are encouraged for a few years in Hong Kong; however, the problems have not been improved. This paper examines the current status of recycling market in Hong Kong construction. The major difficulties encountered are discussed. The appropriateness of measures for mitigating the barrier effects is also investigated.
