dc.description.abstractThe study sample is composed of 17 nanocomposites of rubber (13 cm £ 18 cm.). The first 16 integrate different types of nanomaterials. The last one does not integrate nanotechnology, being the reference sample. The coefficient of friction (COF) of the nanocompo-sites has been analysed with the combination of contami-nants C floors: water C terrazzo and oil C steel. These conditions were extracted from a previous field study car-ried at different industrial environments. Frictional behaviour was analysed by means of a fric-tion-testing machine. It was specially designed by the Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia for this purpose. With the friction machine, the vertical and horizontal forces are reproduced, simulating the forces that are acting and the position that the foot adopts during walking, run-ning or in lateral movement. In this way, it is possible to determine the dynamical COF of the footwear.
