Harmonic balance analysis is a powerful numerical method for solving nonlinear electromagnetic (EM) problems. It is also can be used to solve the nonlinear quasi-static electromagnetic field for DC biased transformer problems used in HVDC Transmission system and power electronics. This paper introduces a relatively new numerical method, namely, the harmonic balance - finite element method (HB-FEM) and its application to time-periodic steady-state nonlinear EM field problems. The validation of DC biased problem in nonlinear magnetic field and harmonic analysis are also presented in this paper.Harmonic balance analysis is a powerful numerical method for solving nonlinear electromagnetic (EM) problems.
