Two new chromone derivatives, 6-methoxymethyleugenin (1) and 2-hydroxymethyl-6-methoxymethyleugenin (2), and the previously reported 6-hydroxymethyleugenin (3) were isolated from the New Zealand fungus Tolypocladium extinguens. The structures of these compounds were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data. 6-Methoxymethyleugenin (1) showed moderate cytotoxicity against P388 leukemia cellsTwo new chromone derivatives, 6-methoxymethyleugenin (1) and 2-hydroxymethyl-6-methoxymethyleugenin (2), and the previously reported 6-hydroxymethyleugenin (3) were isolated from the New Zealand fungus Tolypocladium extinguens.
