dc.description.abstractOver the years 2004-2006, Australia-China relations remained excellent. Trade expanded greatly, while the two countries cooperated in various ways, including over the environment. Australia did not share American Administration concerns that China was spending too much on defence. One commentator was right to signal a "Chinese future" for Australia.
