Congratulations to Vinesh Chandra, acting Head of Mathematics at Mansfield State High School, who has been awarded the prestigious QSITE Teacher of the Year for 2004. Vinesh Chandra was born in Fiji. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree with a Certificate in Education from the University of South Pacific in 1981, majoring in mathematics and chemistry. His first posting was to Nasinu Secondary School - a government school which was built for indigenous Fijian students. He also had an additional responsibility of a boarding master.
