dc.description.abstractThe behavior of a free-head pile under lateral soil movement and vertical load was investigated using a newly developed experimental apparatus. Typical test results are presented to demonstrate the similarity and difference in the response of the pile subjected to triangular and rectangular soil movement profiles. It was found that the response such as distribution of bending moment, and pile displacement, etc. is significantly affected by the soil movement profilesen_US
