dc.description.abstractA solution to the system of nonlinear differential equations describing condensation and the nucleation of new particles in a gas medium is presented. The particles formed were assumed to be stable, and vaporization was therefore ignored. The rate of formation of new particles was limited by the effectiveness of collisions. The parameters of the system that approached a stationary regime changed periodically, which was related to both system finiteness and sinks operating in the system. The time of the attainment of stationary regimes and the spectrum of stationary concentrations were estimated. The inclusion of vaporization did not change the solution qualitatively.en_US
