Géographie du droit critique et production de l'espace: théorie et méthode selon l'oeuvre d'Henri Lefebvre
Despite the conscious appropriation of a wide range of social theory influences within socio-legal studies, only a small number of legal scholars have consciously drawn on the theoretical resources of the 'spatial turn' in the social sciences more generally. This chapter provides an overview of the philosophy of Henri Lefebvre, whose book The Production of Space has been one of the most important influences on recent, theoretically informed research in geography, urban studies and political theory. A number of the methodological implications of Lefebvre's work for the emerging field of critical legal geography are identified.
