A hard ask: VET and Small Business
MetadataShow full item record
Governments in Australia have sought to enhance small business participation in vocation education and training (VET). However, there are few tasks within VET policy and practice that would be guaranteed to draw a more wearied response. Given small business reluctance and resistance to participate in structured VET, this task is a particularly 'hard ask'. It is proposed that changes to the orientation of VET provisions, replacing market-based provisions with support and facilitation and broadening both the pedagogy and definition of VET are required to increase small business participation in VET.
