Destination fruit is an idea that was proposed in a commercial report on marketing opportunities for a particular fruit. This paper investigates the conditions of possibility that support the development of 'destination fruit' as a concept, including a review of the theories of sense of place and place attachment. The potential for growth in the marketing of foods and experiential consumption based on theories of place are proposed.en_US
