Architectural Animation Using ArchiCAD

Abstract

Incorporating fly through animation, virtual reality scenes and sun study analyses with three dimensional modelling has revolutionised architectural design, just as desktop publishing transformed the printing industry in the 1980's. It has given architects/interior designers the control to design, compose, direct and produce dazzling architectural buildings, fly throughs, VR's, compelling presentations and displays on the personal computer. The applications of 3D modelling with multimedia are as endless as the user's creativity. It has placed the adeptness of a drafting table with a multimedia production department on our desktop. This paper theorises the complex features of computer generated three-dimensional animation used in architectural and interior design applications.
