Earlier results have either focused on the study of the properties that minimum (not minimal) dominating sets preserved or lacked to investigate which update affects a minimal dominating set and in what ways. In this paper, we first show how to incrementally compute a minimal dominating set on arc insertions. We then reduce the case of computing a minimal dominating set on arc deletions to the case of insertions. Some properties on minimal dominating sets are provided to support the incremental strategy. Lastly, we give a new bound on the size of minimum dominating sets based on those results. en_US dc.description.peerreviewed Yes en_US dc.description.publicationstatus Yes en_AU dc.language English en_US dc.language.iso en_AU dc.publisher Elsevier en_US dc.publisher.place United States en_US dc.relation.ispartofstudentpublication N en_AU dc.relation.ispartofpagefrom 3647 en_US dc.relation.ispartofpageto 3652 en_US dc.relation.ispartofissue 19 en_US dc.relation.ispartofjournal Information Sciences en_US dc.relation.ispartofvolume 180 en_US dc.rights.retention Y en_AU dc.subject.fieldofresearch Database Management en_US dc.subject.fieldofresearchcode 080604 en_US dc.title Dominating sets in directed graphs en_US dc.type Journal article en_US dc.type.description C1 - Peer Reviewed (HERDC) en_US dc.type.code C - Journal Articles en_US gro.date.issued 2010 gro.hasfulltext No Full Text
