View more >The purpose of this research thesis is to explore the cultural impacts of online journalism in Saudi Arabia, focusing on the relationship between culture and online media, as well as media in general. In the conclusion of the theoretical background for the research study, there is a description of global media, technology and its processes, and global media culture and the impacts of culture on online journalism. The main component of the research thesis is empirical. The aim of this study is to identify, understand and explore the cultural factors that influence online journalistic practices in Saudi Arabia from the perspective of journalists. The purpose of this research is to provide insight into the factors that motivate and influence journalists to present news stories in specific ways. The research problem is focused on finding answers to the ways in which cultural considerations influence online journalistic practices and what the impact of local culture is on journalists’ professional attitudes, values and practices.
