    Abstract
McKercher (2010) claims that ecotourism suffered from exaggerated early projections which collapsed owing to a crisis of confidence amongst academics. This is not supported by available evidence, which indicates that the commercial ecotourism subsector continues to grow slowly and steadily, and largely ignores academics.McKercher (2010) claims that ecotourism suffered from exaggerated early projections which collapsed owing to a crisis of confidence amongst academics.
