This article is an intergenerational dialogue between two Australian sound artists, Ros Bandt and Leah Barclay. Bandt and Barclay have collaborated in various capacities over the last decade...Their major collaboration, Hearing Places (hearingplaces.com) is an online umbrella for creative projects which unite sound and place. The Hearing Places catalogue includes recordings, concerts and installations with plans for sound maps and virtual collaborations unfolding in the future. Both composers have taken unique directions in the Australian sound art scene. In this article, their parallel voices discuss acoustic ecology, intercultural collaborations, new technologies and perspectives on listening across generations and temporalities.
