In in this chapter we initially identify the need for a more specific language when discussing corporate social responsibility (CSR) within the small- to medium-sized enterprise (SME) context and adopt the term sustainable management practices (SMP) for greater relevance to this business sector. This term and other findings emerged through a qualitative inquiry into the roles of continual learning and collaboration amongst SMEs as an organizational development intervention to achieve SMP. The rich nar-rative gained from nine SMEs and a government department provided insight and understanding of theory validating practice. In the findings, aligned values and beliefs supported the learning cycles of innovation and knowledge necessary to develop understanding (Rooney and Mckenna, 2005; Del Baldo, 2012). These outcomes and findings are synthesized into the emerging collaborative ecosystem model that forms a visual and holistic perspective of this research through the metaphor of a tree (Alvesson and Sandberg, 2014). This metaphor depicts the organizational development to achieve SMP within the context of the following research question: How can SMEs benefit from collaboration through a continual learning approach to sustainable management?
