Humans move continuously as part of normal living, even when asleep. The health of your heart, lungs, and digestive system-and even your mental health-are greatly improved through exercise. In modern times, technical aids have significantly reduced opportunities for physical activity; e.g., jobs are more sedentary, household chores require less physical effort, and commuting usually involves sitting in a vehicle.
