    Abstract
    The relation between theory and practice in the education of professional workers seems to be a common concern amongst academics employed in higher education institutions. While professional fields such as psychology, social work, para-medical care, nursing, sports coaching and teaching appear to be diverse, they all share a common theory-practice concern.
