    Abstract
    Previous studies have made critical contributions to the theory and practice of Public-Private Partnership (PPPs) in the context of smart cities. A literature review plays an essential role in supporting scholars to better understand the topic, helping researchers identify the boundaries of the current body of knowledge and research trends, and shaping future research. Therefore, this paper analyses the latest research developments in PPPs within the context of smart cities. The paper reveals that innovation and co-research in PPP projects are the main trends recently.
