On 22 August 1932, Australian activist Mildred Muscio, an advocate for world peace and disarmament, presented a radio broadcast on Sydney’s station 2BL as part of the League of Nations Week organised by the League of Nations Union. The substance of her talk, titled “Are We Internationally Minded?”, was reprinted in the Sydney Morning Herald over the next two weeks. In her broadcast, Muscio, who emphasised the importance of pacifism as the interconnection between all peoples in a globalising world, had declared disarmament the only hope for humankind. To be internationally minded was, for Muscio, simply a matter of “sanity”
