    Abstract
    An approach for legal compliance representation and checking within a Linked Open Data framework is presented. It is based on modeling deontic norms in terms of ontology and ontology property restrictions. It is also shown how the approach can handle norm defeasibility. Such methodology is implemented by decidable fragments of OWL 2, while legal reasoning is implemented by available decidable reasoners.An approach for legal compliance representation and checking within a Linked Open Data framework is presented.
