This paper was originally published on 22 March 2017. The authors apologise for a typographical error that occurred in the 5th paragraph of the sub-section ‘PHYLOGEOGRAPHY OF M. LAMBERTI’ of the ‘DISCUSSION’ section of the article. The original published version of the article contained the following incorrect sentence: Our findings are consistent with the treatment of Mack (1934) who recognized M. l. assimilis North, 1901 (type-locality, Dawson River, Queensland) essentially for subclade A1 in inland central eastern and south-eastern Australia, and M. l. mastersi Mathews, 1912 (type-locality Alexandra, Northern Territory) for all other populations currently in M. l. assimilis found west and north of the Lake Eyre Basin except of course M. l. bernieri, M. l. dulcis and M. l. rogersi. This sentence has now been corrected to read as follows: Our findings are consistent with the treatment of Mack (1934) who recognized M. l. assimilis North, 1901 (type-locality, Mossgiel, New South Wales) essentially for subclade A1 in inland central eastern and south-eastern Australia, and M. l. mastersi Mathews, 1912 (type-locality Alexandria, Northern Territory) for all other populations currently in M. l. assimilis found west and north of the Lake Eyre Basin except of course M. l. bernieri, M. l. dulcis and M. l. rogersi.
