A case of multiple keratoacanthomas associated with red tattoo pigment (Letter)

Abstract

A 48-year-old Caucasian man presented with a 7-month history of multiple enlarging squamoproliferative lesions on his right dorsal foot. These were confined within the red pigment of a multicoloured tattoo consisting of a dragon with flame accents. These had been treated unsuccessfully with repeated cryotherapy over a 6-month period. The tattoo was obtained 12 years prior. The patient had multiple other tattoos of varying ages up to 30 years with no previous cutaneous reactions. Dermatologic history was significant for multiple blistering sunburns; however, no other skin malignancy were observed.
