    Abstract
Spiritualty gives meaning to people's lives. In this article, the authors discuss how spirituality is defined in occupational therapy practice, how it enhances client-centred practice, and explore how spiritualty can be incorporated into mental health practice. The Psychospiritual frame of reference provides a definition of spirituality and a framework. There is an emphasis on the spiritual dimension of connectedness, which is particularly salient for people with a severe mental illness living in community care units and undergoing the process of transition to community living.Spiritualty gives meaning to people's lives.
