During portal vein embolization (PVE) prior to hepatectomy, the viability of the future liver remnant (FLR) is a critical determinant associated with the risk of post-operative liver failure and death.1 Care is taken to prevent embolization of viable liver and to prevent spread of embolization material. Alongside a review of the literature, we present a potentially devastating case of pulmonary embolization of material following PVE and liver resection.en_US
