    Abstract
2016 marks 40 years since the establishment of Drama Australia as the peak professional body for Drama Educators in Australia. In 1976 a group of passionate drama education devotees collected in a Scout Hut in the Adelaide Hills and planned the way forward for our professional association. The new organization was to be called the National Association for Drama In Education (N.A.D.I.E.) and would act as an umbrella organization for the state associations, providing national support, a national perspective and advocacy for our field at a national level.2016 marks 40 years since the establishment of Drama Australia as the peak professional body for Drama Educators in Australia.
