The Blue Notebook has emerged as the leading journal within in the field of artists books and holds a broad base of subscribers and readers across the globe. This volume of the journal extends the international representation of five Australian artists and writers contributing to the field of artists books (and of print culture). This outcome continues to address the call from scholars in the field to advance the critical nature of the field with a developing critical terminology and corresponding discourse. The abbe events were established to contribute to this call and abbe 2020 and the subsequent publication of papers delivered at the conference extend Mosely’s contribution to the field. Five articles were published in Volume 16 #1. Michael Phillips, The Role of the Autographic and Materiality in Prints Annique Goldenberg, 80 Degrees North: Artists Book as Environment Tim Mosely, Texturing artist’s book discourse Clyde McGill, The Material Space of the Library Darren Bryant, Between the Folds: The Dialectics of Aura and Altered Narrative in Reproductive Practice
