    Abstract
Life course epidemiology has been defined as the study of the longterm effects of biological, behavioral and psychosocial pathways that operate across the life course as well as across generations, and influence the development of chronic disease.1 These studies are designed to help the establishment of causal relationships between exposures and outcomes, taking into consideration the duration and the time of disease development.Life course epidemiology has been defined as the study of the longterm effects of biological, behavioral and psychosocial pathways that operate across the life course as well as across generations, and influence the development of chronic disease.1 These studies are designed to help the establishment of causal relationships between exposures and outcomes, taking into consideration the duration and the time of disease development.
