Teaching and Assessing Professionalism in Dental Education
Abstract
Objectives: This research aims to describe the process whereby the curriculum for the Dentistry and Oral Health Therapy programs at Griffith University was changed in 2009 to align with the Essential Skills for Dentists (2006) and the Profile and Competencies for the Graduating European Dentist (2008 and 2009). Conclusion: The inclusion of professionalism and communication in the Griffith University curriculum will assist in assessing the training program's effectiveness for accreditation with the Australian Dental Council in line with the Professional Attributes and Competencies of the Newly Qualified Dentist (2010).Objectives: This research aims to describe the process whereby the curriculum for the Dentistry and Oral Health Therapy programs at Griffith University was changed in 2009 to align with the Essential Skills for Dentists (2006) and the Profile and Competencies for the Graduating European Dentist (2008 and 2009).
