This Document and Toolkit is designed to support the set-up and delivery of an interprofessional student-assisted allied health chronic disease ambulatory clinic. It outlines the essential elements that should be considered when first embarking on the development of an innovative workforce strategy such as this. Service providers and clinicians within Queensland Health should use this Guide to support their local efforts to set-up and run an ambulatory service using a student workforce. This information can, however, be generalised to a broader range of services. For example, it may also be applicable to tertiary institutions, educational providers (who send students on placements) and other private providers across jurisdictions who may be interested in setting up and operating a similar model of care.
