Impacts of Tourboats in Marine Environments
This review characterizes tourboat operators and their impacts based on technical knowledge and information collected from interviews with Australian operators in seven geographical regions. It also summarizes cases published in the peer-reviewed scientific literature that describe impacts of any vessel, or vessels, similar to those used by tourist operators. It is concluded that wherever boats or vessels accumulate in one area, or use a particular area frequently, there is a high probability that such use will cause a detectable change in one or several parameters discussed.
