This paper presents a newly developed dielectric embedded Multi-Input and Multi-Output (DE-MIMO) antenna for WLAN systems. Compared with conventional linear array, the DE-MIMO antenna has improved communication performance in MIMO systems with its compact physical size and built-in orientation for wireless routers. Due to the complexity of the physical structure and various conflicting performance specifications of the MIMO antenna, a multi-objective evolutionary algorithm combined with a frequency domain FEM approach is employed to design this DE-MIMO antenna. A comparison between the conventional linear array MIMO antenna ...
