dc.description.abstractTwo women a week die in the UK as a result of interpersonal violence. It occurs throughout society and has a devastating effect on survivors, their families and communities. However, some healthcare professionals are unclear about their roles and responsibilities when supporting women and children. This article considers the prevalence of domestic violence, examines its effect on women and their families, and gives an update of policy and best practice.en_US
