Ethnicity and Minority Nationalities Since 1949

Abstract

This article critically reviews the literature on ethnicity and minority nationalities in China since 1949. It divides the topic into economy, and culture, with sections on particular minorities, the most important being the Tibetans and the Uighurs, a Turkic people living in Xinjiang in the far northwest of China.
