Encounters: Subdisciplinary dynamics in Australian music-making and recording

This paper examines the dynamics that music subdisciplines bring to record production and seeks to clarify meaning for the recordings as virtual constructs of subdisciplinary encounters. This is detailed in a three stage investigation and subsequently argues for a collaborative approach to achieving increased understanding of the simultaneous action of several levels of musical reality, towards a trans-subdisciplinary ecology of music-making.
