Abstract

Every year thousands of people accept the challenge of working abroad with little idea of the experience that awaits them, the problems that will confront them and the cultural issues they will need to deal with when working abroad. This well compiled book edited by Kip Becker is a series of journal articles that deal with a range of cultural issues that need to be confronted when conducting international business. The cultural issues covered include multicultural management, social exchanges, human resource management practices, the selection of alliance partners, and the effect of personality and culture, channel relationships and environmental management issues in a developing country. The setting for the investigation of these issues includes a variety of different countries: China, India, Singapore and Indonesia.
