Abstract

According to the theoretical research on teachers' knowledge base and the demands of English curriculum standards of basic education on teachers, the author thinks that the training curriculum for primary and secondary school teachers of English can be divided into six categories: language skills, subject matter content knowledge, pedagogic knowledge and EFL teaching skills and techniques, educational technology and application, contextual knowledge and research methodology in applied linguistics.
