Abstract

This paper investigates the catalytic effect of MnZr metallic coupling on hydrogenation of magnesium. It is found that MnZr coupling greatly increased the hydrogenation kinetics, especially at low temperatures. The system can absorb 5wt% hydrogen within 30 minutes at 150 degrees C. The effect of milling time on the microstructures and hydrogenation properties has also been investigated.
