Abstract

Myanmar is the second largest country in South-East Asia and has a total land area of 676,577 km2. It borders five nations – Bangladesh, India, China, Laos and Thailand – with over 2,800 km of coastline. It is a nation with a tiny population of 60 million compared with the massive populations of its rapidly growing neighbours – China and India.
