Abstract

The practice of forensic odontology is not static; in Queensland, we operate in a milieu of constantly changing standards, a significant population influx with a rapidly-changing demographic, and the availability of new technologies and facilities, and we are required to continually adapt to our changing environment. We analyse all routine forensic odontology identification cases undertaken in Queensland between 1994 and July 2008, documenting changing trends and their effects on case types, procedures and outcomes, illustrating possible directions for future development.
