Abstract

We would like to present three children with end-stage cardiorespiratory disease with ongoing ventilation requirements that were successfully transitioned home on high-flow therapy using AIRVO2TM. Two patients bridged to respiratory recovery and one patient received end-of-life care at home. High-flow therapy is effective in multiple paediatric acute care models1, 2 and is an area of ongoing research3. Its use as a stand alone therapy in the home, separate from non-invasive pressure-support models, to our knowledge, has not been described in children to date. Written consent was obtained from all families involved for their child's file to be accessed for the purposes of this publication.
