Abstract
Despite the societal value of organ donation behaviour rates remain low worldwide(Theodosopoulou et al. 2018). Organ shortage is a global problem and the demandfor organ transplants has reached a critical stage whereby demand outstrips supply.According to the World Health Organization (WHO), only less than 10% of patientscan benefit from transplantation therapies. As a consequence, thousands of patientsdie or endure a poor quality of life while waiting for the required organ transplanta-tions (González 2019). Therefore, there is an urgent need to bridge the gap betweenorgan supply and demand for transplantation.
